BIOGRAPHY OF CARMEN G. JUNYENT

Name: Carmen G. Junyent
Date of birth: June 14, 1954
Place of birth and residence: Barcelona (Spain).
Self-taught illustrator and painter, born in Barcelona (Spain).
They say that the gaze is the mirror of the soul… and when you have the opportunity to contemplate the paintings in Carmen G. Junyent's “Views of the World” collection, that expression becomes even more powerful.
In her paintings, Carmen conveys feeling, vitality, sensitivity… highlighting above all the expressive capacity of the gaze. Her paintings never leave you indifferent; they are full of color, beauty, tenderness, exoticism, serenity, joy… life, in short.
Her characters are rendered with innate elegance, bringing us closer to the protagonists of her works, capturing the diversity and richness of many of the people she has met along her various journeys.
Carmen G. Junyent has exhibited internationally in several countries, including France, Germany, Belgium, Morocco, Norway, Canada, Singapore, Miami, New York, China, Japan, and more.
She is particularly notable for her four Special Prizes awarded by the Societé National des Beaux Arts du Paris for her exhibitions at the Carrousel du Louvre (Paris), and the "SILVER MEDAL" Award from the Committee of the 17th West Lake International Art Fair in Hangzhou, China.
She is currently participating in the permanent exhibition "THE MEAM HALL," located at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona.

Training and Style
She is a self-taught artist.

She began working with drawing and comic strips, and later explored different visual techniques.
She is especially inspired by the gaze as an expressive element, following trips to Asia and Africa where the people she observed have deeply influenced her.
Works, Series, and Techniques
She has developed the collection titled "Views of the World," with portraits that highlight the gaze, cultural diversity, and beauty of different people's faces.
She also has a series called "Glamour," inspired by beauty, style, and glamour as an artistic theme.
